About Gillian

Gillian is a contemporary printmaker and painter whose current practice explores the tactile world of printmaking using paper matrices. While recognised (particularly within the military community) for her commercial work as a digital military artist, the work shared on this website marks a deliberate and liberating departure from the constraints of the computer. The rise of generative AI has given Gillian a desire to move away from the digital world and focus on art forms that can only be crafted by hand. As an engineer by training, she is particularly drawn to printmaking for its exciting combination of technical precision and unpredictability.
